What is EngageWelland?
EngageWelland is the City of Welland's online community engagement hub. It used to be known as YourChannel, but we feel this name suits us better. The site provides the opportunity for residents to get involved and have their say on important and relevant issues. Through the online discussion forums, surveys, and other feedback tools, we're making it quick and easy to contribute your ideas, opinions, and comments on critical issues and projects, guiding staff and Council in making informed decisions.
EngageWelland is a one-stop shop for the community to provide feedback, check past consultations, see what decisions have been made, and make sure your voice is heard.
How can I participate?
If this is your first time using EngageWelland, you may need to register. Some options do not require registration, but it is worth taking the time to do so, as it keeps you informed of project activity. When prompted, create a username and password of your choice, provide a valid email address, and answer a few other questions about yourself. You'll then receive an activation email containing a link to click on to complete your registration.
Depending on the topic, you may receive an invitation to provide feedback via a survey, pin comments to a map, participate in an online discussion forum, or share your ideas.
What will happen to my feedback?
All comments received from engagement activities/consultations are collated and used to inform staff and Council decision-making processes to develop strategies, programs, and activities.
All feedback provided during the consultation is considered; however, it is not guaranteed that every suggestion will be taken and adopted as proposed.
How is the site moderated?
All moderation is completed by Social Pinpoint in cooperation with The City of Welland. Moderators do not edit comments and only remove comments deemed significantly off-topic, offensive, or malicious, resulting in immediate removal from the forum.

Is my privacy protected?
Yes, your privacy is protected. The City of Welland will only use your email to contact you with updates and invite you to participate in consultations relevant to your topics of interest.
EngageWelland is hosted and moderated by an external independent organization, Social Pinpoint. Your email address and any other information provided will not be distributed to any third party or used for any other purpose. For more information, please refer to Social Pinpoint's Privacy Policy.
Why do I need to register?
We ask you to sign up for the online platform because:
It helps minimize the risk of the consultation being manipulated by someone who leaves many comments supporting a position.
It allows us to update residents if there are changes about the consultation or the project.
Once you have registered, you won't need to enter that same information every time you complete a survey or provide feedback.
Is my participation anonymous?
Aside from the screen name/username you choose, your personal information is not publicly displayed and does not identify you individually in your responses. If you are concerned about being identified on EngageWelland, it is encouraged you select a username that is different from your name.
Can I cancel the emails I get from EngageWelland?
Yes. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time. Look for the unsubscribe link at the bottom of emails and newsletters. Note that your registration will remain active.

People Make Parks
Parks are so much more than playgrounds and places to walk the dog. Parks can connect us to nature, teach us about our environment, and provide a place of connection and social interaction. Parks enrich our lives physically, emotionally, and economically. In addition, they make communities happier and drive property value up.
