Playgrounds are more than places to run, climb, and play. They’re where young people build confidence, learn how to connect with others, and grow physically, socially, and emotionally. These spaces support creative play, friendship, and skill-building that lasts well beyond the playground.

As part of the 2026 Playground Renewals project, we’re asking for your help to finalize improvements at the following neighbourhood parks:

  • Bemus Park Playground
  • John Deere Park Playground
  • Manchester Park Playground
  • Maple Park Playground
  • River Road Park Playground

Parks and forestry staff have been working with professional consultants to develop proposed playground designs for each park. The designs are based on current safety standards, accessibility requirements, site conditions, and the available budget, and include new equipment selected to support play for all ages and abilities.

At this stage, the overall layout and main play structures are set. We’re now sharing draft designs and renderings for each park and inviting the community to help shape the finishing touches.

We’d like to hear your thoughts on colour themes and any additional features that could be included if funding allows. Your feedback will help guide the final look and feel of each playground and decisions about supporting amenities.

You can review the proposed designs and complete a short survey for any park you’re interested in.
