The Green Advisory Committee is an appointed committee established to advise Council on matters related to green initiatives and the city’s urban forest.

Its mandate is to:

  • Make recommendations on plans, programs, or City by-laws relating to planting, conservation, and sustainability.
  • Advocate for the City’s green spaces.
  • Engage the community on the role of forests, greening, stewardship, and sustainability.
  • Promote partnerships to support stewardship and greening of City property and public land.

  • Naturalization and the increase of natural corridors
  • Increasing the tree canopy, including urban forests
