2024 Road Resurfacing

The City of Welland is undertaking a road resurfacing program along Goodwillie Drive, Wellandvalle Drive, Promenade Richelieu, Tanguay Avenue, River Road, Brown Road, and Seaway Drive. The proposed upgrades will include: a new asphalt surface, curb replacement, and sidewalk replacement.

Construction

• Full-width asphalt milling
• Full-width asphalt paving
• Curb repairs
• Rehabilitation and replacement of sidewalks

Traffic Disruptions

• One-way traffic with flag persons through the construction zones when permissible (minor periods of road closures may be required throughout construction)
• Open to two-way traffic nightly and on weekends/holidays when permissible

Impacts to Private Property

• Topsoil and sod to be reinstated where disturbed due to construction activities
• Driveway closures required for construction will be communicated in advance to affected property owners
• Driveways that have been disturbed due to construction will be reinstated to match the existing material

Next Steps

• Construction is anticipated to begin July 2024
