Every dollar in the city budget tells a story — about priorities, about values, and about what kind of community we’re building together.

This year, like every year, we’re aiming for a budget that reflects your needs, your input, and your vision for Welland. That means transparency in how decisions are made. It means clear information about where your tax dollars go. And it means opportunities for you to get involved — whether you're curious about a specific line item or just want the big picture.

Over the next few months, staff will bring forward recommendations, Council will debate options, and we’ll be sharing updates every step of the way.

The 2026 budget is about more than funding the year ahead. It’s about building a city that works — today and tomorrow.
