The proposed upgrades to Broadway include a new trunk sanitary sewer, watermain upgrades, storm drainage improvements and road rehabilitation.
Construction
- New sanitary sewer on Broadway from Riverside Drive to Semley Avenue.
- Improved storm drainage and extensions of the storm system.
- New watermain between Kilgour Avenue and Semley Avenue.
- New water and sanitary services installed to property line.
- Full road reconstruction between Kilgour Avenue and Pietz Avenue, including new curb and gutters.
- New asphalt and line painting from Riverside Drive to Semley Avenue.
Traffic Disruptions
Road Closure Update
- Rolling block-by-block closures between Kilgour Avenue and St. George Street
- Detours are posted for through access on Broadway and for access to the side streets.
- Broadway will be closed at Kilgour Ave until May 26, 2023.
- The posted detour route is Regional Road 54 (Prince Charles Drive) > Lincoln Street > Regional Road 27 (Riverside Drive)
Impacts to Private Property
- Topsoil and sod to be reinstated where disturbed due to construction activities.
- Driveway closures will be required during concrete works and while curing. Advance notice to be provided to affected properties.
- Driveways that have been disturbed due to the construction will be reinstated to match existing material.
