Broadway Road Reconstruction and Sanitary Trunk Sewer

The proposed upgrades to Broadway include a new trunk sanitary sewer, watermain upgrades, storm drainage improvements and road rehabilitation.

Construction

• New sanitary sewer on Broadway from Riverside Drive to Semley Avenue.
• Improved storm drainage and extensions of the storm system.
• New watermain between Kilgour Avenue and Semley Avenue.
• New water and sanitary services installed to property line.
• Full road reconstruction between Kilgour Avenue and Pietz Avenue, including new curb and gutters.
• New asphalt and line painting from Riverside Drive to Semley Avenue.

Traffic Disruptions

Road Closure Update

• Rolling block-by-block closures between Kilgour Avenue and St. George Street
  • Detours are posted for through access on Broadway and for access to the side streets.
• Broadway will be closed at Kilgour Ave until May 26, 2023.
  • The posted detour route is Regional Road 54 (Prince Charles Drive) > Lincoln Street > Regional Road 27 (Riverside Drive)

Impacts to Private Property

• Topsoil and sod to be reinstated where disturbed due to construction activities.
• Driveway closures will be required during concrete works and while curing. Advance notice to be provided to affected properties.
• Driveways that have been disturbed due to the construction will be reinstated to match existing material.
